The Lobster Pots, in the fishing village of Seahouses, makes a perfect base from which to set out for your exploration of Northumberland.

Seahouses is a colourful seaside resort and fishing harbour. Boat trips to visit the bird and seal colonies on the Farne Islands are available throughout the summer. The village has a variety of shops to explore as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs for that refreshing pint on a hot day! You will also find, hidden in the backstreets, Swallow Fishmongers acclaimed by renowned chef, Rick Stein.

The long, largely deserted, golden beach is ideal whether you choose to play frisbee with the children, take 'Man's best friend' for a good run to Bamburgh (approximately 3 miles) , or simply sit, relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Farnes.

Alternatively, why not take the coastal path close to The Lobster Pots, leading either northward to Seahouses harbour or southward to the undulating beach to Beadnell.

Seahouses is nicely sandwiched between Bamburgh, famous for being the birthplace of the heroine, Grace Darling, Bamburgh Castle and the home of the Bamburgh Banger and Beadnell, with its harbour and sweeping bay with inviting views of Dunstanburgh Castle and a popular haven for watersports and diving.

Also, within a short driving distance you can explore the village of Craster, famous for it's kippers and Low Newton by the Sea, with a visit to the village pub, The Ship Inn, an absolute must!

The market town of Alnwick is approximately 15 miles away with Alnwick Castle, made famous for filming Harry Potter and Alnwick Gardens with its amazing water features, well worth a visit.

Further north, approximately 20 miles, is the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. A causeway links the Island to the mainland, which can only be accessible at low tide. Each year several people get stranded trying to cross the causeway outside the safe crossing times.

The list of things to do and places to visit is quite simply endless. To help you make the most of your holiday there are several guide books, maps and walk books along with literature for local visitor attractions available in The Lobster Pots for use during your stay.
